What is CGP?

The Club GrandPrix is an inter-club competition where PRC members race against other PRC members.  It consists of a set series of 16 races, with your top eight races counting toward your score.

The goal is to encourage participation and competition at the club level, with rankings or overall winners based on performance across the series.

Question 2

How does scoring work?

Points are awarded on a countdown basis, starting from 20 points.

For example:

1st place = 20 points
2nd place = 19 points
3rd place = 18 points, and so on.

If more than 20 people compete, you will always score at least one point (e.g., 23rd place = 1 point, same as 20th).

What is the scoring criteria?

The scoring criteria vary between events, with three factors in play this year:

Fastest time
Age grading
Naked run (time prediction)

Fastest time
This is straightforward—it’s based on who crosses the finish line first. The fastest runner scores 20 points, the second-fastest scores 19 points, and so on.

Age grading
Age grading compares your time to the world record for your age and gender, making it possible for runners of all ages to compete on a level playing field. You may already be familiar with this from parkrun.

Naked run
In a naked run, you’ll predict your finish time for an event. Your goal is to run as close to your predicted time as possible without using a watch or any pacing aids (hence the ‘naked’). It’s a mix of luck and knowing your pacing ability.

Question 4

What if I participate in all the events?

Accepted Answer

If you participate in more than eight races, only your top eight results will count.

However, you’ll earn one bonus point for each additional race completed beyond the eight.

Signing Up

Where available, uou must sign up for races as Peacehaven Run Club.

For parkruns, ensure your club affiliation is listed as Peacehaven Run Club in your parkrun profile. If you have not listed PRC as your club through parkrun, these results will not count.

Question 6

Do I need to wear club kit?

Accepted Answer

In short, yes. To be eligible for points, you must be wearing either your PRC race kit OR club training kit. The adidas kit and green kit does not count - just the original white vest/tee or race kit.
